The Breastfeeding Manifesto outlines seven key objectives necessary if the UK is to initiate and sustain improvements in infant feeding practice. Working towards these objectives will help to ensure that women, irrespective of their socio-economic or ethnic background, are empowered to breastfeed for as long as they choose and that more babies can enjoy the benefits of their mothers milk.

The Breastfeeding Manifesto was launched in October 2006 supported by a Coalition of over 20 organisations including UNICEF, Save the Children, the National Childbirth Trust, the Breastfeeding Network, The Royal College of Midwives and Best Beginnings. The Manifesto has already achieved has cross-party support but, for it to have the impact at Governmental level that is necessary to ensure it is fully supported and resourced, we ALL need to get involved. It is quick and easy to do.
